Chinese electric vehicle company Taizhong signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Science and Technology Center of Thailand and the Electricity Authority of Thailand, in which China and Thailand will jointly promote electric motorbikes to replace fuel motorbikes in Thailand. At the signing ceremony on the same day, Telling Group presented 50 electric motorbikes to the Thai government. It is understood that TSL is expected to mass produce electric vehicles and electric motorcycles in Thailand by the end of this year and sell them to the whole Southeast Asia.

In his speech, the Director of the National Science and Technology Centre of Thailand, Mr. Sumitha, said that the electrification of urban transportation is very important for combating pollution and improving energy efficiency. The Thai government strongly advocates the replacement of fuel motorcycles with electric motorcycles, and according to the plan, the share of electric motorcycles in Thailand will reach 30% by 2030. By bringing China's advanced electric vehicle production technology to Thailand, TSL Group will help the Thai government achieve this goal.

The cooperation between the Telling Group and the Thai government stems from the coordination and promotion of the United Nations Environment Programme. TSL has been a partner of UNEP's e-mobility project since 2018, and has been piloting the roll-out of electric vehicle projects in Kenya, the Philippines and Vietnam. The United Nations Environment Programme is concerned about and supports the Thai government's cause of promoting electric mobility, which has clear environmental and economic benefits and is the mainstay of future urban transport, said Maimon, Regional Coordinator for Resource Efficiency at the United Nations Environment Programme Asia-Pacific Office. China has a large number of electric vehicles and electric motorcycles, and the Chinese company Taillong can help Thailand promote the electrification of urban public transport.

Yao Li, president of Telling Group, told People's Daily that Telling is the first company in China's electric vehicle industry to be certified by the United Nations and has been supporting the United Nations Environment Programme's Electric Mobility Programme. This time, we will enter the Thai market and cooperate with local Thai companies to export China's industrial chain and technical standards, produce Chinese electric vehicles locally in Thailand, and help the Thai government to replace more electric motorcycles with fuel ones as soon as possible.
